Wheat

Wheat is the unique herbaceous grain which growns up yearly and prefers continental climates. Wheat is an effective nutrient used to produce flour and animal feed. Wheat is able to be used with crust or without crust. Another way of using wheat is to be an ingredient for livestock feeding stuff. And yet, after harvesting of wheat, a bundle of straw has been obtained as a waste product. Wheat’s energy is 1.18.
Flour

Flour is basically produced through wheat proccessing. On that way, flour becomes a basic component of many kind of food particularly bread and pastries. Flour has different grades such as 550, 650 and 850, depending on its quality.

Barley

Barley is an essential kind of grain especially used as malt and feed stuff. For decades, barley was used to be a prehistorical and economically powerful product. In frame with world-wide grain production capacity, barley is in fourth place along after corn, wheat and rice. And in Turkey, barley is in the second place, comes right after wheat. Throughout The World today, 65% of barley is used for animal feeding, 33% as malt beer, whiskey and biodiesel additive and the rest of 2% is available as human’s food additive in food industry. 90% of barley consumption in Turkey is based on animal feeding, and the rest of it is in beer industry in malting. Barley in animal feeding needs to be rich in protein. If husk ratio of barley is high, that diminishes nutritive value in negative-wise. It means, protein-rich and husk-poor six-row barley is appropriate with animal feeding production. Thus, malting barley shoul have low protein (at around 9 – 10,5%). For production of beer malt, two-row white barley must be used.
Barley is potentially valuable for molecular studies due to being a one year-product and having seven-pair cromozom in its genom. Besides, barley has also variety of physiological, morphological and genetic properties together with a strong genetic hertiage and self-pollination capabilities as well.
Soybean

Soy is one of the 5-6 plants that feed the whole world. Soy is protein-rich and highly nutritious. The utmost produced and consumed oil in the world is soybean oil. Alternatively, soybean meal has the utmost usage as raw material in animal feeding industry. And today, soy’s milk, cheese, sauce, ice cream, meat and other related products are being regularly produced. Moreover, soybean naturally gaines nitrogen to the soil what makes the soil more productive for up-coming harvesting.
Soybean is also used extensively in bio-fuels production.
Chickpea

Chickpea is a seed-born and one year grown-up grain. Its seed does vary in beige, darker or even black. Chickpea is an easy plant tobe grown up particularly in arid areas. Chickpea is easy to gron-up and prefers arid soil. Chickpea sustains long against water shortage and not stands on soil quality. But, hot weather condition is a must for production performance.
Chickpea’s foliage is in between 5 – 15 mm and buds normally are up to 30 mm. Seeds can be eaten even in green without drying. Dried chickpeas are also used in cooking.
Red-Green Lentils

Lentil belongs to legume family with classification type of Lenses. Lentils are mainly called “Lens culinaris” as it has been lens-shaped with edible seeds and commonlyand mostly consumed one among the other 3 type of Lenses.
Red lentil is very rich in polysaccarihde without crust.
Green lentil has a similar taste with peanut and absorbes aromas well. Even it has over-cooked, its shape remains steady.
Corn

Corn is a one –year grain with classification of un-satured oil family member and growns up in humidity-full climates.
In corn, lysine and tryptophan biological values are under blocking influences of amino acids. Each corn grain contains % 3 oil. Corn oil has mainly benefited in kitchen as cooking-wise and also involved in some part of industries on several purposes.
Corn classification is principally based on color and shape of stub, thickness and size of grains.
Sunflower

Sunflower seed is the fruit of the sunflower plant. Sunflower seed contains high value of oil and it has been mainly used in oil production. Another way of sunflower seed consumption is to serve it roasted as a snack. Sunflower oil and sunflower oil meal has used to be produced locally but, does not meet enough the oil demands locally in Turkey. In order to meet the demands, countries do import sunflower and sunflower oil from the current available markets.
Canola

Canola is a rehabilitated plant of “colza” with a content of erucic acid and glucosinolates which could be harmful to human-being. Eventhough, canola oil is very healthy for human-being and is in use as a nutrition for food industry and livestock feeding industry as well as soybean oil.
Canola has two season as a oil plant in summer and winter.
Each canola grain contains of 38-50% oil and 16-24% protein.
Canola takes 3th place among the other oil natural sources of sunflower, soy, cotton and peanut.
Soybean Meal

Soybean meal has been obtained through processing soybean. Approximately 78% of produced soybean meal comes in that way.
Sunflower Meal

Low Protein Sunflower Meal
Low protein sunflower meal is a product of oil industry and has normally been obtained through the extraction of sunflower seed meal.
Expeller Sunflower Meal
This oil industry product has been obtained by pressing and overwhelming the sunflower seeds.
Extraction of Sunflower Meal
This is a by-product has been obtained by grinding the ruins of sunflower seed with a solvent.
